Our lab is committed to tackling obesity and related metabolic disorders by elucidating the mechanisms behind defective feeding and body weight regulation. We aim to identify key targets for the prevention and treatment of eating disorders, obesity, and diabetes. To achieve this, we employ a range of advanced techniques, including AAV vectors for targeted gene delivery, Cre-loxP/Flp-Frt genetics, CRISPR/Cas9-mediated mutagenesis, optogenetics, chemogenetics, in vivo imaging, electrophysiology, anterograde and retrograde tracing, and single-cell RNA sequencing. Our recent research explores the interactions between glial cells and neurons, specifically how neurons and glial cells work together to maintain energy balance and behavioral homeostasis.
